BirdWalk - OUR ANNUAL FIELD TRIP
In 1991 a tradition was started to conduct field trips after the Rotary International Convention to see local birds. Over the years these trips have taken place the day immediately after the international convention in order not to interfere with any of the scheduled events of the convention. With the aid of local birders, such trips customarily locate about fifty local species. Several Rotarians and spouses usually take part in these events.
The last BirdWalk was on Thursday June 18th after the Rotary Convention in Taipei. The trip was at the Guandu National Park in Taipei from 9AM until noon. It was led by a local birding expert, Arthur Chiang. He was the Deputy Secretary-General of the Wild Bird Society of Taipei. Close to thirty Rotarians attended the event.
