IFBR Young Birder Scholarship
About our Youth Scholarships
Rotary International emphasizes that the environment is inseparable from human well-being, urging renewed commitment to sustainability, conservation, and climate resilience as central to Rotary’s mission.
By using membership fees and private donations, IFBR has created a scholarship to support young birders. In 2025 funds were given to the American Birding Association’s (ABA) Young Birder Program. Through the ABA, offerings for young birders include Young Birder Camps, the Young Birder of the Year Mentoring Program, and a young birder magazine, The Fledgling.
How to Apply
If you know of an Interact member who may be interested in attending a camp for young birders, have them apply for future scholarship funds by contacting the Young Birder Committee chair, Steve Melcher at stevemelcher@me.com for more information. We are currently working with, but not limited to, the American Birding Association.
