Pieter Schut has been a member of the Rotary Club Naarden-Bussum in the Netherlands since 1996. He served as a district governor (2015-2016) and Rotary Public Image Coordinator for the Netherlands and Belgium (2020-2023).

Pieter has been an experienced birdwatcher for forty years. “Watching birds is the best way to actively enjoy nature”, he believes.
Pieter worked as a journalist for newspaper, radio, and television. As editor-in-chief he was responsible for nature programs on Dutch television.
He was a board member for the regional Bird Working Group Het Gooi and produced the club magazine.
In 2007 Pieter started his own media company, Tadorna Media, named after the shelduck (Tadorna tadorna), because he aims to be diverse in his work. Colorful as the shelduck is.

At IFBR Pieter is responsible for communications and social media.
